Miyabi Black 5000MCD – Masterpiece Japanese Chef’s Knife
The Miyabi Black 5000MCD is more than a knife—it is a work of art forged with precision in Seki, Japan. Combining exceptional performance with striking beauty, this knife is crafted for chefs and culinary enthusiasts who demand the finest tools in the kitchen.
Unmatched Blade Performance
At its core, the blade is made of MC66 micro-carbide powdered steel, CRYODUR ice-hardened to an impressive 66 HRC. This ensures an exceptionally sharp edge with outstanding retention and durability. Surrounding the core are 132 additional layers of steel, forming a breathtaking flower Damascus pattern that highlights the artistry of traditional Japanese knife-making.
Hand-Honed Sharpness
Each knife is sharpened by master craftsmen using the three-step Honbazuke honing process. This traditional technique achieves an ultra-sharp cutting edge with a precision angle of 9.5–12° per side (19–24° total), making every slice effortless.
Elegant Black Ash Handle
The handle of the Miyabi Black series is made from premium black ash wood, providing a stunning contrast to the Damascus blade. Crafted in the traditional Japanese D-shape, the handle offers ergonomic comfort for fatigue-free cutting. A decorative mosaic pin and steel end cap complete its luxurious design.
Care Instructions
Hand wash only to preserve the blade’s integrity and handle beauty. For sharpening, use high-quality whetstones to maintain its razor-sharp edge. Avoid dishwashers and harsh cutting surfaces such as glass or ceramic.
