I finally managed to procure this Miyabi Birchwood honing steel to match the Birchwood knife set I had.For some reason these steels, unlike their knives aren’t available in Australia.Very good price , which was inclusive of shipping from U.S.A.Photo shows handle after a few applications of oil, which not only enriches the colour of the wood but makes it water repellent as well.Arrived earlier than expected.Amazon online shopping, customer service from their staff at call centres, response time to telephone call requests has been unequalled.Cannot speak highly enough about them.UPDATE: I’ve used this steel on my knives since my original review. AMAZING ! Absolutely worth its price.
I got exactly what I wanted to match my Miyabi Birchwood 8" Chef's Knife. The product arrived in fantastic condition and despite some of the other reviews the packaging did it's job. I was able to immediately use the product and store it safely in my own personal storage as such should be done for high quality utensils and tools.

The Hayami 130 arrived promptly and very sharp, one of the sharpest knives I've ever received from a vendor. It's convenient to have it razor sharp out of the box. I use petty knives a lot, just above my use of the cleaver. This knife is beautiful and extremely functional. The next petty knife will be about 100mm.

Beautiful blade Gorgeous handle nice and sharp ! My only thing some nakiris online are quite tall almost looking like a cleaver this blade is shorter in height but it handles itself beautifully
