Laguiole France knives with the iconic bee emblem

Laguiole France is home to one of the world's most recognisable knives, born in 1829 in a small village on the Aubrac plateau of Aveyron.

Local craftsman Pierre-Jean Calmels reshaped the region's fixed-blade shepherd's knife into a graceful folding design, traditionally handled in Aubrac cattle horn. Its slender curved profile and the bee emblem, which legend links to Napoleon, have since become symbols of the French art of the table.

Discover the Laguiole France collection, where classic Aveyron styling meets everyday dining.
