SYNCHROS: A New
Cutting Experience
Award-Winning Design
Manufakturprodukt des Jahres Iconic Award Test Winner

The SYNCHROS series redefines what a forged knife can be. By deliberately omitting the traditional bolster — the thickening between blade and handle — GÜDE has created a seamless transition that offers a completely new haptic and functional experience. Multiple international awards confirm what craftsmen already know: this is a knife without compromise.

Material
SYNCHROS blade steel close-up

SYNCHROS knives are forged from chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel — a formula refined over generations in the GÜDE workshop in Solingen. The alloy achieves an optimal hardness of 57–58 HRc (Rockwell), striking the precise balance between torsional stiffness for accurate cutting and the flexibility that prevents chipping. It is not a compromise; it is a deliberate engineering decision.

Production

Every knife in the SYNCHROS series is produced through traditional drop-forging, compressing the grain of the steel for exceptional material density and strength. From forging blank to finished piece, each knife passes through meticulous manual stages — ice-hardened for molecular stability, then hand-sharpened to an edge that holds. No shortcuts. No automation where human hands do it better.

IV
Form
SYNCHROS full-tang handle construction

Drop-forging enables a design language impossible in any other process. The SYNCHROS handle transitions directly into the blade with no interruption — a form that feels continuous in the hand. The full tang runs the length of the handle, and the wrap-around end cap ensures perfect balance. Every geometric decision serves the grip.

V
Function

Engineered for daily use and long-term reliability. The optimised bevel angle pairs with the Cr-Mo-V steel to deliver precise cutting and outstanding edge retention. The raised grip position — made possible by the missing bolster — encourages a natural pinch grip, reducing fatigue over long prep sessions. Every cut feels deliberate.
